| Based on an average of 2000 km per month with
fuel costs at $0.75 per litre and the device increasing
km/litre by 25%. Assuming current usage is 8.3 km/litre or
20
mpg. This is 241 liters per month at a cost of

Only order one if you all ready know how many KM/L / MPG you get. If you don't know, you won't know how much you are saving.
How do you keep track?
- Fill up your vehicle.
- Set your trip meter to "0" (trip meter, a push button is usually where it shows how many kilometres are on your vehicle below your speedometer)
- Drive
- Fill up around hall a tank.
- Keep receipt and make sure you have how many liters of fuel were put in.
- Look at trip meter, write on receipt how many KM you travelled
- Set trip meter to Zero
- Use a calculator and divide KM by Liters = how many KM/L
- Save receipt.
- Repeat steps 1 - 9
- Take both receipts and add the KM/L together and divide by 2. This will give you an average which is your base KM/L.
You are responsible for installing it. If you know nothing about motors then use a mechanic. It takes about 15 minutes.
If your vehicle is a pre 1996 then nothing extra is needed. 1996 or newer will more than likely require an enhancer to be installed at the MAP sensor. Installation instructions are provided. Use a mechanic if you are not sure, otherwise your car computer can be damaged.
For 1996 and newer Fords the device must have an enhancer connected to the MAF sensor. Installation instructions are provided. Use a mechanic if you are not sure, otherwise your car computer many be damaged.
Once the device is installed, repeat steps 1 - 9. Then using your calculator,
- take the result in step 8 and divide it by your base KM/L.
- Subtract 1 from the result.
- Multiply by 100
- Result is percentage increase when using the HOD device.
- Repeat a few times.
Results will vary depending where you drive and of course how you drive. eg: city (increase), commute (higher increase), highway (higher still increase).
With the increase in power, there is a tendency to drive a bit more aggressively. Result, very little percentage increase in KM/L.
If you drive a 1996 or newer vehicle chances are you will also need an enhancer which is a device to regulate the amount of fuel used. (by pass the car computer) Not every vehicle needs it.
How Do I Know If I Need an Enhancer?
When your HOD system is installed you have a percentage increase in KM/L with your first tank. The next tank or two shows a large drop in percentage increase maybe even less than your base. You need an enhancer.
Make sure your mechanic is familiar with MAP sensors for most vehicles and MAF sensors for Ford vehicles.
